6.5 Earthquake at Yunnan - Zhaotong China Ebola Breakout at West Africa
 
        In August 2014, there were serious disaster happened both in China and the west Africa, now they need us to lend a helping hand. An earthquake with a 6.5 magnitude struck Ludian Country, Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province. So far, over 600 people have died, 3,142 people have injured, 1.0884 million people were affected, 12000 houses collapsed and more than 30,000 houses have been damaged. Furthermore, the traffic, electric power and communication interrupted in an all-round way in disaster areas. On the other hand, the Guinea government of West Africa recently has declared a state of emergency because of the outbreak of Ebola virus. As yet, over 1,000 people died of virus in this area, another 1,000 people suffered from cases. Ebola virus is a kind of highly infectious virus, the patient's mortality rate is high up to 90% and worse, and there is no medicine can cure. Virus transmits via direct contact with patients or contact with secretions of infected animals, including saliva and blood. Guinea is one of the poorest countries in the world, and most people live in slums, so it is easy for virus to spread in the community rapidly.

        Therefore, EARTH TREK will start the Donation Campaign again this year. Every staff in the company will help to deliver the caring message and to support donation fund of "Hong Kong Red Cross" among our network which includes our worldwide business partner, suppliers, friends and family member etc. We are not only to call for donation fund raising internally, but will also conduct a voluntary cash donation activities at street. Hong Kong Red Cross is a good reputation well managed organization since 1950.
